The very young The Pier (born between ’97 and ’95 in Molfetta, southern Italy) are Bomba Dischi/Faro Records’ new challenge.
The power trio formed by Gabriele Terlizzi, Davide Pasculli and Danilo De Candia has been playing in this formation since 2013.
Like all high-school bands, they take their first steps in local contests, winning pretty much all of them:
- Rec’n’Play Contest (winners) – Wondermusic Contest (winners) – Premio Maggio Contest (winners) – Arezzo Wave Puglia (critics award).
Their repertoire includes both instrumental and songs sung in English. Their genre can be described as “indie math rock”, but there are also influences of other genres such as post rock and post punk. They’re particularly influenced by foreign bands such as Don Caballero, Radiohead, Foals, This Town Needs Guns, Joy Division, or italian bands such as Gazebo Penguins themselves, or Fine Before You Came.
They shared the stage with Marlene Kuntz, Zeus!, Gazebo Penguins and Boxerin Club.
On October 2016 their first official album called THE PIER was out. Today the band is working for the new release expected for October 2017
